How We Got Here

Taking Over With Care

This dining room has been one of Launceston's most talked-about settings for years — built into the cliff face beside a 30-metre waterfall, looking out over the historic ships of the Penny Royal precinct. When the opportunity came to lease the space, we jumped at it.

Sip 'N' Dine Indian Kitchen & Bar is a locally-run hospitality operator bringing a warm, personal style of service to this landmark room. We know guests love this place already — our job is to honour that while adding our own flavour, literally and otherwise.

What's Changing

Where We Are Right Now

Honesty matters to us, so here's exactly where things stand during the handover.

Same Room, New Team

The dining room, bar and Waterfall Lounge you know are unchanged — now run by the Sip 'N' Dine team.

Current Menu, For Now

We're serving the existing menu as-is during the handover, made fresh in-house, while we develop our own dishes.

Indian Flavours Coming

Behind the scenes, our kitchen and bar are developing the Indian-inspired menu Sip 'N' Dine will be known for.

We didn't just take a lease — we fell for a room with a waterfall in it. Everything else we're building around that.

Where We Are

Inside Penny Royal

Sip 'N' Dine sits within the Penny Royal Launceston precinct — home to cliff walks, ziplines, gold panning and cruises on the historic Brig Tamar. It's an easy walk from the city centre, right on the water.

Come for dinner after a day of adventure next door, or make the meal the whole occasion — either way, we'll have a table ready.
